This week, April 2-7, begins Spring Break for Iron County students. I am still teaching but I know many students are leaving town so let me know what your plans are for lessons. Check the Studio calendar for cancellations/openings if you want to reschedule.

Short Survey
The SAU (Suzuki Association of Utah) has a survey to see the interest in the state-wide Gala Celebration Concert they do every 5 years. It's a huge commitment -time and money- for everyone involved and they might not be able to continue it. It's such an awesome opportunity and I would hate to see it discontinued. The survey asks how many volunteer hours your family would be willing to give. I know it seems impossible for us to do much from southern Utah but they are trying to come up with ways we can help from home or the day of. The end of May we'll be having a studio Suzuki Play-In where we'll play through the Suzuki repertoire, students joining in as we get to the pieces they know. We'll be talking about 'review' in the Suzuki method through-out the month and how to implement effective review in daily practice. Stay tuned for more!

Suzuki Association of Utah

The Suzuki Association of Utah membership expires Sept. 30th. I will be collecting dues throughout Sept. and need it by Sept. 26th.  
SAU Family membership is $30 payable to Marin Colby.  I'll register everyone online and you' ll receive your membership card in a few months. 

*Family membership includes a subscription to a tri-yearly SAU family newsletter. This newsletter has very helpful articles to help you be a better Suzuki parent and important information to help keep everyone up to date on upcoming activities.

*SAU family membership also provides discounts to all SAU sponsored activities including graduation, super activities, group classes, workshops, etc. 
  
You won't want to miss the SAU Celebration IX Concert coming Fall 2015!  Over 2,000 Suzuki students will perform together in the LDS Conference Center in SLC.

Celebration IX Concert "Where Love is Deep"

Celebration is a wonderful musical tradition.  It is a Celebration of music, of Dr. Suzuki and his method, of potential and possibilities.  It is for all the Suzuki students in the state of Utah.  It crosses boundaries of distance, ability, and individuality.  Celebration draws students from all regions, all instruments, all ages, and all skill levels.  There is something for everyone. 

 

We are excited to announce that the Celebration IX Gala Concert will be September 19, 2015.  The Harp Concert will be September 12 and the Five Piano Concert will be on September 18, 2015.  These events will take place in the LDS Conference Center. 

 

The theme is "Where Love is Deep".   There are many exciting events and activities coming up this year in preparation for this wonderful concert.  

Celebration Logo Concert: We have an exciting logo art contest for all students to participate in.  Every child will receive a prize for their art submission.  We will be announcing prizes soon on our blog.
